The Practical Course AGR 301 – Practical Crop Production I (Kharif Crops) for the Pre-Final Year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students (2023 Batch) was inaugurated on 06 March 2026 at the College Farm of Palar Agricultural College. The 2023 batch consists of 104 students, who will participate in this practical learning program as part of their academic curriculum.
The inauguration was organized by Dr. P. Sangameshwari, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) and course instructor, under the guidance of Dr. N. Tamizselvan, Principal, and Mr. S. Srinivasan, General Manager of Palar Agricultural College.
This practical course is designed to provide students with hands-on training in various crop production practices related to Kharif crops, including land preparation, sowing, crop management, nutrient management, pest and disease control, and harvesting techniques. The program aims to strengthen students’ field-level knowledge and practical skills in scientific crop production.
Such experiential learning initiatives play a vital role in preparing agriculture students to understand real-time farming practices and contribute effectively to the advancement of sustainable agriculture.
